Mr. Alfred James Blue

Alfred James Blue, 97 of Navasota went to his eternal home in Heaven, on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 15th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 16th at First Baptist Church of Navasota with Rev. Clyde Larrabee presiding. Interment will follow in Old Oakland Cemetery in Roans Prairie. In accordance with the state guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited and face coverings are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Al was born November 10, 1922 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Barney W. and Elsie (Clay) Blue. He married Imogene Harmon in Lawton, Oklahoma on March 7, 1943 and together they had two sons. Al worked as a mechanical engineer to support his family. He was a member of First Baptist Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dickson Baptist in Spencer, Oklahoma, First Baptist of Humble, Texas and then First Baptist of Navasota.
He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Imogene Harmon Blue; sons and daughter-in-law, Denny Blue, and Rusty and Lynna Blue; grandson, Russel Blue and wife, Lori; granddaughter, Kelli Blue; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Wil Bryan; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Wanda Blue; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends, all of whom he cherished.
Serving as pallbearers are Russel Blue, Wil Bryan, Leonard Busa, Logan Meitzen, Floyd Martin and Dennis Underwood. Honorary Bearers are Skip Croncich, Buck Isbell, Hollis Hood, Thomas Moore and Gary Fuqua.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Elsie Blue; brother, Clay and wife, Belinda Blue; brother, Joe Blue; and sister, Cora Lee “Babe” and husband Elwood Moser.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in his name be made to Children at Heart Ministries, 1301 North Mays, Round Rock, Texas 78664 Attention: Miracle Farm OR the First Baptist Church of Navasota.
