Mr. Dennis Leiber

Dennis Ray Leiber, 63 of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, November 17th at home surrounded by his wife and 3 daughters. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, November 20th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville. Rev. Matthias Dinger and Father Ed Kucera will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Dennis was born in Navasota on August 13, 1957 to Oscar Fritz and Adeline Lizze (Shroeder) Leiber. He attended high school in Navasota and college at Sam Houston State until offered a full time position at Brookshire Brothers. While ascending the ranks there, Dennis purchased The Wash Depot in 1989 and later Cooter’s Liquor in 1994. He was often heard saying that his daughters were the reason he had grey hair and owned a liquor store! He had a great (oftentimes sarcastic) sense of humor that always brought a smile to your face. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and could often be found playing a good game of dominos or cards. He also loved cooking and grilling on one of his many grills that he had collected throughout the years. Dennis loved his family dearly and was so proud of them. Becoming a grandpa (Pop) was a highlight of his life and he doted on his two grandchildren shamelessly.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Leiber; daughters and sons-in-law Chelsea Leiber, Cassie and Dallas Gallant and Jill and Kelly Kirkpatrick; grandchildren Harper Gallant and Hayes Kirkpatrick; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Marlene Leiber; sisters and brothers-in-law Debbie and Scott Brooks, Carol Winkler and Brenda and James Podraza.

Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Rutledge, Hershel Perry, III., James Shiflett, Chad Podraza, Marcus Noto and Heath Leiber.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronnie.
