Dora Louise Johnson, 96, of Navasota, formerly of Three Rivers, MI, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Corey Church of the Nazarene, 10056 Water St., Three Rivers, MI.
Dora was born on February 17, 1917, to the late Lauren Claude Norton and Eva Mearle (Blanchard) Norton. She lived in the Michigan area for many years. Her dad was a farm hand and as a young girl, they moved often.
Dora married William (Bob) T. Johnson on January 11, 1936, and they lived in Constantine, MI, on Canaris Street. In 1944, they moved along with their sons Gerald and Leroy and a step-son William Jr., to a farm originally bought by Bob's great-grandfather in 1853, which is located at what is now known as Harder Road.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include her three sons, Gerald Johnson and wife JoAnn of Three Rivers, MI, LeRoy Johnson and wife Mary of South Bend, IN and Dennis Johnson of Navasota; brother Eugene Norton of Barhamsville, VA; grandchildren Gerald Johnson, Jr., Kathleen Johnson, LeRoy & Vicky Johnson II, Larry Johnson, Esther and Mark Robinson; four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
