Mrs. Mary Frances Noblitt Stokely

Mrs. Mary Frances Noblitt Stokely, 92 of Navasota, passed away Thursday, January 31st at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, February 4th, 2019 at Field Store Cemetery in Waller, Texas. Rev. Amy Haralson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Stokely was born in Trinity, Texas on May 7, 1916 to John and Naomi (Ramey) Noblitt. She attended school in Trinity and played basketball throughout her high school years. After graduation, Mary Frances furthered her education in the nursing field and obtained her R.N. She worked as a school nurse throughout her life. She married William P. Stokely and raised a daughter, Frances Jane. Mary was a gentle, soft spoken woman with strong convictions. She was a devoted wife and mother and terrific friend. Aside from nursing, Mary Frances also volunteered as a Pink Lady at local hospitals. An accomplished seamstress, she created dolls, quilts and clothing for her family. Spending time tending her vegetable and flower gardens when she was younger gave her immense joy. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Garden Club, VFW Auxillary, Home Demonstration Club, and Retired SRS Volunteer Club of the Brazos Valley.

Mary Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frances Jane and Larry Tinney of Navasota; two grandchildren, Devin Andrew Tinney and David Stokely Tinney; four great-grandchildren, Raeanna Tinney, Carter Stokely Tinney, David Andrew Tinney and Hannah Naomi Tinney nieces Carolyn Carter and Amy Haralson; and nephews Michael Rutherford, Kenneth Meyers and John Meyers.
Serving as pallbearers are Marshall Calhoun, Jr., Desmond Calhoun, Arthur Holiday, Devin Andrew Tinney, David Stokely Tinney, and Jay Haralson. Honorary bearers include Walt Haralson and Dennis Saathoff.

Mrs. Stokely was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William P. Stokely.
