Mrs. Maurine Patterson

March 24, 1926 - October 11, 2016

Maurine Patterson, 90 of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, October 11th at her son David's home. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Thursday, October 13th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, October 14th at 10:00am, also at the funeral home. Rev. David Saffle will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston at 2:00pm, also on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Patterson was born in Grimes County on March 24, 1926 to George and Elizabeth (Barrett) Shead. She married Woodrow Patterson on October 31, 1942 in Navasota and together they raised two sons. Mrs. Patterson was a devoted wife of almost 70 years until her husband’s death in 2011. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She cherished family time and moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Woody Patterson and Priscilla of League City and David and Carol Patterson of Montgomery; sisters-in-law Shirley Patterson of Navasota and Viola Mitchell of Cleveland; grandchildren Holly Burton and husband Larry, Brian Patterson and fiancé Kristen; great-grandchildren Ashlyn and Luke Burton and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Burton, Brian Patterson, Roger Shead, Emory Shead, Ben Shead and Johnny Qualls. Honorary pallbearers are Lovett Boggess and Anthony Spadachene. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her parents; husband Woodrow Patterson and her siblings. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider a memorial contribution to Encompass Hospice, 2201 Timberloch Place, Suite 225, Spring, TX 77380.
