Mr. Norman Blake

On Thursday, March 27, 2014, Norman Blake lost his battle with cancer. He was born in Crockett, Texas on December 2, 1963 and was raised in Centerville. He worked as a prison guard in the early 80’s and as a service station attendant at Wild Bill Ellis’s Exxon Station in Centerville. Following his graduation from SHSU in 1990, he accepted the position as juvenile probation officer for Grimes County. In 1991, he transitioned to adult probation in Grimes County and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Kathleen Blake of Anderson and his brother, Bennett Blake V of Rapid City, South Dakota, as well as a priceless group of friends.
A memorial service with family and friends will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 5th at Anderson Methodist Church, 256 Main Street, Anderson, Texas. The Reverend C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
