Robert V. Zaragoza Sr.

July 7, 1950 — June 1, 2021

Robert V. Zaragoza, Sr., 70 of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, June 1st at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station. Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, June 3rd from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel, followed by a parish rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, June 4th at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rite of Commital following in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Brian Eilers will be the celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Robert was born in Huntsville, Texas on July 7, 1950 to Francisco and Margarita (Villasana) Zaragoza. He married Rosa Munoz in Huntsville on June 6, 1970 and together they raised four children. He was a devoted UT Longhorn fan but happily wore his “Aggie Grandad” attire is support of his Aggie grandchildren. He loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and was most happy when playing golf with his brother and other members of his family. He always looked forward to any opportunity to go dancing. He was known for his sense of humor which he never lost even until the end.

He is survived by his fiance Bertha Torres; son Robert Zaragoza, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law Roxanne and William Smith, Sr., Rosie and Frank Crawford, and Regina and Augustine “J” Vasquez, IV.; brothers and sisters-in-law Phillip and Laura Zaragoza, Frank, Jr., and Frances Zaragoza, Josie Zaragoza, Yolanda Zaragoza and Mary Zaragoza; sisters Paula Acosta and Juanita McGilberry; grandchildren Lauren and Cameran Cox, Kelsey Kehlenbeck, William Smith, Jr., Seth and Kathryn Kehlenbeck, Matthew Ramirez, Jr., Morgan Smith, Jacqueline Vasquez, Maddison Vasquez, Augustine Vasquez, V., and McKenzie Crawford and great-grandchildren Addison, Finn, Calliope and Cruz.

Serving as pallbearers are Seth Kehlenbeck, William Smith, Jr., Matthew Ramirez, Jr., Juan Garza, Mark Ramirez and Brandon Gunther.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosa Zaragoza and brothers Henry, Pete, Ernest and Marion Zaragoza.
