Rose was born on December 16, 1937 to Agnes (Ubanoski) and Stash Sechelski Sr. in Anderson, Texas. She was married to Felix Kimich on September 29, 1956. She was the only girl of five children, but she had to work just like the boys. She told many stories of working in the cotton fields. Once they were married, they moved to Houston where she worked several jobs, including National Bisquit and mostly at a kite company called Gayla Kite.

In 1969, they moved back to their home town of Anderson and built a dairy farm. Rose ran the dairy during the day with her children while her husband Felix traveled daily to Houston and worked at FMC.

Rose always had a large garden that supplied enough vegetables for not only her family, but many other friends and relatives as well. She loved to can her harvest, and was especially known for her pickles. She was also a wonderful cook. She loved to make cakes and cobblers for many people, especially as a thank you if they did something for her or her family.

Although she was a hard worker, she also knew how to have a good time. She was known as “Momma Kimich” at the old dance hall called the Country Moose. She could shake a leg with the best of them. She brought back stories for days about her good times. Many times, she had a house full of company that came from Houston to spend the weekend. Rose always made sure she had plenty of food for her guests.

Rose was also very faithful in her church. She was a devoted member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was a member of the Alter Society, and was baptized, received her First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Matrimony sacraments all at St. Stanislaus. She helped make food and bake goods for funeral services for years. She loved to help out with the church bazaar as well. She always had to make sure she made plenty of cobblers, breads, pickles, and cakes for the church. She supplied the 1st item for the bazaar auction, which was a loaf of homemade bread. Even until the end, she made sure to have plenty of pickles canned for the next bazaar.

Rose is proceeded in death by her parents: Stash & Agnes Sechelski Sr; brothers: Peter Sechelski, Archie Sechelski, Stash Sechelski Jr. & wife Agnes, and Phillip Sechelski; and grandson Patrick Busa.

She is survived by her husband Felix Kimich; son Ricky Kimich and wife Debby; daughters Geralyn Backhus and husband LaVearne and Cynthia Coronado and husband Paul Jr., all of Anderson. She also leaves behind sisters-in-law Virgie Sechelski, Barbara Sechelski, and Stella Sechelski, along with 11 other grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six 6 step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. She also has one more great-grandbaby on the way.

Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Kimich, Michael Kimich, Brian Kimich, Jason Busa, Kevin Busa, Brandon Coronado, and Leon Coke.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church CCE program or the building fund.
