Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Allen

Ruth Elizabeth (Crenshaw) Allen passed away Monday, August 19th at the age of 97. With her passing she completed a long and beautiful life’s journey to meet her Savior and to join her husband and son.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, August 23rd at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 24th, also at the funeral home with interment in the Peach Creek Cemetery. Her nephew, Harold Barker, will officiate. Lunch will follow at the Peach Creek Community Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ruth was born June 18, 1922 on the A&M campus and later worked in various departments at the University for 27 years until her retirement in 1981. She married Henry L. Allen on May 30, 1942 and they enjoyed 63 years of married life together before his passing in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Edna Crenshaw; husband Henry L. Allen, Sr. and son, Henry L. Allen, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Allen; sisters-in-law, Mary Crenshaw and Barbara Albricht, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We extend a special thank you to Dorothy Lewis who assisted with her care over the last several months.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in Ruth's name be made to either the Peach Creek Cemetery Association at P. O. Box 6826, Bryan, Texas 77801 OR South Brazos County Fire Department, P O. Box 501, Millican, Texas 77866.
