Billy James Robbins, Sr., 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in Whitehall. Visitation with family and friends will follow at the Whitehall Community Center.

B.J. was born to Walter and Ruby "Mozelle" Robbins on August 11, 1941 on Lyfort, Texas. After completing high school, he moved to Houston to attend the police academy. Upon graduation, he went to work for the Houston Police Department. Upon retirement, he continued his life of public service with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.

B.J. had a servant's heart and was very talented in many ways. He made sure to instill his strong work ethic in his boys and teach them many of his talents. He enjoyed his horses and fishing. He really enjoyed those times when his grandchildren would come to Florida to visit and he had an opportunity to take them fishing.

B.J. married Carolyn Johnson on June 16, 1962. This union was blessed with 2 boys, Billy, Jr. and Robby. On August 8, 1998, he married Deborah "Debbie" DeLa Fuente.

B.J. is survived by his wife, Debbie, sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Jr. and Linda Robbins of Navasota and Robby and Kimberly Robbins of Tomball, 8 grandchildren, Brittany Robbins, Philip Robbins, Cullen Robbins, Rylen Robbins, D'Lynn Robbins, Jace Robbins, Kendall Robbins, and Graysen Robbins, 2 great-grandchildren, Eliza Velasco and Beau Robbins, 3 sisters, Ruby Robbins, Nancy Wulff, and Delores Snyder. He is also survived by 3 step-children, Angel "Dawn" and husband Oscar Hernandez, Christopher "Buddy" and wife Julie DeLaFuente, Corey and wife Heather DeLaFuente , step-grandchildren Savannah, Sebastian, Karis, Cruz, Marlayna, Brandan, Hannah, and Brady, and step-great-granddaughter Penelope, 14 nieces and nephews, and countless friends and extended family.

B.J. was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Walter "Ray" Robbins, and Donnie Robbins.
