Charlie Edward Fajkus, 79, of Navasota and formerly of Bellville for over 45 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in College Station, Texas.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel. No public services are scheduled at this time.

Charlie was born on October 19, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to Charlie Adolf Fajkus and Helen Holick. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart, honors that reflected both his courage and dedication.

Following his military service, Charlie devoted 21 years to serving his community as a firefighter in Houston with the same commitment and quiet strength that defined his life. He then went on to operate his own cabinet and trim company, Trim Craft, for over 20 years.

Charlie had a deep love for country and western music and rarely missed an opportunity to go dancing. He found joy in the outdoors and was an avid hunter of deer and birds, as well as a passionate fisherman who especially loved saltwater fishing. Charlie was also one of the founding members of the Austin County Rifle and Pistol Club. Whether on the dance floor or by the water, he was most at home doing the things he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Adolf Fajkus; his mother, Helen Holick; and his sister, Helen Marie Fajkus Litzler.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley; his stepdaughters, April Travis and her husband Brent, and Rebecca Lopez and her husband Benjamin; and his cherished step-grandchildren, Emery, Greyson, and Noah. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will remember him for his service, strength, and love of life.
