Daniel Ray "Boone" Byars, 67, of Bedias passed away Saturday, November 6 at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center. A visitation will be held from 12 - 2pm, with funeral services beginning at 2pm on Tuesday, November 9 at Singleton Bible Fellowship with the Rev. Floyd Hoke officiating. Interment will follow in the Singleton Community Cemetery.
Daniel was born in Iola on September 9, 1943 to Cornelius & Rubena (Yeager) Byars. He married Reva McNew in Madisonville on June 20, 1975 and loved her for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-son, Donnald Alan Ashmore.
Survivors include his wife, Reva of Bedias; daughters & sons-in-law, Linda Fowler of Cypress, Luanne & Thomas Rakowitz of Bryan, and Debra & Victor Hutchens of Singleton; step-sons, Kenneth Ashmore & wife Kristi of Lake Jackson, and Corey Sicola of Singleton; sisters & brothers-in-law, Shirley Castelano, and Patricia & Les Phillips, all of Houston, Peggie & Donald Bourg of Omaha, NE, and Willie Mae Farmer of Winnsboro; brother & sister-in-law, Roger Dale & Linda Byars of Wawegan, WI; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Harding & Alan Harding of Sealy, David Price and Jay Kott of Singleton, Gene Hurt of Bedias, and Bubba Matthews of Iola.
