Ronald Richard “Dick” Lindsey, Sr., passed away on March 25, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow in Old Oakland Cemetery with Mr. Ricky Alderete officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Dick was born on December 25, 1931, in Bloomington, Indiana, to John Richard Lindsey and Thelma Odell Lindsey.
At the age of 16, he moved to California, where Dick began working in a circus. By 18, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to service early in life.
Dick spent over 40 years working as a mechanic, a trade he took great pride in. Known for his strong work ethic and skillful hands, he dedicated his life to hard work and providing for his family.
On September 11, 1955, he married the love of his life, Nannie Lee Bryan, in Mississippi. Together, they built a family centered on love, resilience, and strong values.
Dick had a deep love for animals and a personality that brought laughter to those around him—he was also known for his lighthearted sense of humor, often joking about his love for money.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Frueboes; his grandson John Lindsey; his son Ricky Lindsey; his brothers Steven Lindsey and Dean Lindsey; and his sister Maryland Post.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Lindsey Morgan (Cindy); son-in-law, Joe S. Morgan; grandchildren, Elesha Alexander, Jamie Oliver, Lindsey Hubenak, Raymond Frueboes, Zachary Frueboes, Lauren Brown, McKenna Yarbrough, and Aubrey Lindsey; many great-grandchildren, Skylar Blair, Shyla Oliver, Mattson Oliver, Elizabeth Alexander, Gabrielle Alexander, Alyssa Alexander, Michael Alexander, Reagan Hubenak, Levi Hubenak, and Keagan Hubenak; great-great-grandchildren, Gemma Frueboes, Pepper Blair, and Jasher Alexander; brother, Michael Lindsey; and a host of loving extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Frueboes, Andy Alexander, Rodney Fisher, Mattson Oliver, Matthew Oliver, Keagan Hubenak, and Cody Blair. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Joe S. Morgan, Sterling Hubenak, Michael Lindsey, and Brian Lindsey.
Dick will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his service to his country, his love for family and animals, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind through generations. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
