Dixie was born in Navasota, Texas on July 23, 1949 to Arthur and Dolly (Creager) Olden. She grew up in Navasota and just outside College Station with her three brothers: Robert, Luther and John. She graduated from Consolidated High School in 1967 and went on to obtain a degree in Education from Sam Houston State University. Dixie loved children, adopting her son Michael, proudly being a stepmom to Shannon and David, and pouring into the lives of many children as a teacher in North Zulch for 29 years. She also spent many hours ministering to children and youth at various churches. Dixie played the piano, and served as an election worker since she was a teenager. Anything Dixie did, she gave it 100%. She married Donnie, the love of her life, on December 21, 2001, and they were tremendously blessed in their time together. Dixie loved people, but her main priority was her relationship with Jesus Christ, and she is with Him now forever.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Tracy; son Michael Olden; stepson David Tracy; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Liz Olden, Luther and Alta Olden and John and Nancy Olden and grandson Aaron James Austin.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Olden, Luther Olden, John Olden, Todd McCord, Gerald Johnson and David Tracy.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and step-son Shannon Tracy.
