Mr. Donald Wingard, 65, of Anderson passed away Tuesday, July 12th at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be at Nobles Funeral Chapel Friday, July 15th from 5:00-8:00pm with a parish rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 16th at 10:00am also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Red Top Cemetery in Shiro. Rev. Edward C. Kucera will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Donald was born in Navasota, Texas on May 20, 1951 to Elmer and Jimmy Mearl (Colburn) Wingard. He graduated from Anderson-Shiro High School and began working construction. He was employed by Mid South, Sprint and most recently the Texas Department of Transportation. Donald is remembered as a loving, devoted husband and father, who took a very active role in supporting his sons interests in sports and the fair. Donald loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to laugh and never met a stranger. He was a genuine friend and was true to his word. The pride and joy of his life were his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons Ryan and Donnie Wingard; sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Gene Beman; brother J. J. Wingard and his only grandchild, Shelby.
Serving as pallbearers are Jamie Kitkoski, Trey Kitkoski and Sam Nobles, all of Anderson; Brian Russell of The Woodlands; and Archie and Nolan Kitkoski, both of Conroe. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Gurka, Hoyt Wichman, Bradley Wehmeyer, Doug Collegeri, Josh Kettler, Kevin Homeyer, Tommy Kitkoski and Charles Pasket.
He was preceded in death by his parents and uncle Charles Wingard.
