Emma Del Floyd Vaughn, 101, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on April 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Marco Barnes officiating. Inurnment will follow later in Smith Floyd Cemetery in Plantersville. Cremation services are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Emma was born on August 24, 1924, in Grimes County, Texas, to William T. and Lola K. Floyd.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many who truly enjoyed life with her family and those around her. She was known for kindness, strength, and her love of gardening. Affectionally called “Nanny” by many, she touched the lives of everyone who knew her and created lasting memories through her warmth and care.
Emma retired from Harris County Building Management in May 1990.
She survived by her daughters, Virginia Ferrantelle and her husband Louis Sr. (deceased), Marilyn Bakenhus and husband Kenneth, and Rebecca Permenter and husband Charles; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and all of whom she cherished deeply.
Emma will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
