Frances Louise (Hyman) Griffith, 80 of Plantersville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 24, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Ed Kucera officiating. A luncheon will take place afterwards. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Frances was born in Houston, Texas on August 7, 1945, to Charlie B. Hyman and Gracie E. (Rice) Hyman. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1963 and later opened her own Beauty Shop. She loved to be outdoors working, specifically mowing. She loved her zero turn. She played softball and loved bowling. She met the love of her life bowling.
She married Johnnie Frank Griffith on July 8, 1967. Together they raised two loving children, Tyrone Keith Griffith and Melody Diane (Griffith) Stoker. In 2006, they moved from Houston to Plantersville where they lived the rest of their lives together.
Frances is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Tyrone and Shelby Griffith of Keller; daughter and son-in-law Melody and Ryan Stoker of Navasota; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters Martha Kominczak, Linda Wilson (Bill), Charlene Young and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Johnnie Griffith of 53 years, niece Monica Kominczak, nephew James Lee Mann, great-granddaughter Heziabah Lavon Kuehne-Duncan and many other family members.
