Gary Grebe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Grebe, of Washington-on-the-Brazos, Texas, at the age of 72. Gary passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2pm at Friedens Church of Washington, where he was a member since childhood. Cremation services are under the care of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Gary was born in Houston, Texas on February 24, 1953, to Arthur Grebe and Hilma Buck. He was a loving little brother to his two older sisters, Gwen and Gaye. Gary graduated from Milby High School in 1971 and was a skilled center on the basketball team. Known for his far-out sense of humor, Gary was a Texan through and through, who enjoyed his Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream Blue Bell ice cream and taking his family on barbeque crawls. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his boys and barbequing for his family.

He worked for Robertson Electronics, and retired from A.N. Rusche, later Susser Petroleum Company. He spent his later years living on the family-owned farm in Washington-on-the-Brazos, Texas. He was the fourth generation of Grebes to live on the farm and raise cattle there.

Gary is survived by his sister Gwen, his son, Richard Grebe, wife Heather, grandson Jackson, granddaughter Clara; his son, Travis Grebe, wife Kosavare, granddaughter Ilana; his nephew Buck Boren, wife Rachel, son Brooks; and his loving cousins and relatives.
