Glenda Crenshaw, 73, of Iola, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, in her home.

Glenda was born to her parents Arthur Peel and Gladys Stella (Fisher) Pell, on Monday, November 20, 1950, in Brownsville, Texas. Her earlier days were not the easiest but faithful Glenda persevered life’s obstacles. She would meet the love of her life while working at Denny’s in Bryan. This young Bryan Police Officers would be her forever love. Their love and romance grew quickly and they married on March 6, 1970 in Anderson. Together their 53 years of marriage would welcome two children, Bobby Crenshaw and Michelle Crenshaw. John’s younger brother David would pull a fast one on John and Glenda. David decided he and his to be bride would marry the day before John and Glenda as a surprise to the family.

Glenda was a strong lady of faith and truly immolated the love of Christ unconditionally to all she met. She supported her family and shared her love of many activities. She was gifted in creating her house into a home. Glenda was an exceptional homemaker. She was a lover of animals, having a soft spot for them all. She welcomed all kinds of nature’s fur beauties. She not only loved her animals but was fond of growing plants and flowers; Glenda was truly at home with canning her home grown vegetables. She enjoyed her time preparing meals for her family and friends. Her family delighted the most in her homemade meatloaf. She was an enthusiast for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays. Her home was decorated for these seasons. She was a giver of love and peace.

Glenda was a writer of children’s books. She was published three times and won many awards for her poetry. Her quite life and simple approach to living allowed her to write in a manner that was encouraging and inspiring to many.

John and Glenda spent much time in family activities especially during the holidays. She loved her two cruises to Alaska; her many trips to the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles. One of her favorite pass times would be spending time watching her favorite WWE and WWF wrestlers. John and Glenda would be joined by their hearts at an early age. They were committed unconditionally to grow and share in their marriage and to see their small family of four grow.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Bobby Crenshaw.

Glenda is survived by her husband, John Crenshaw; her daughter, Michelle and Troy Gallagher; her sister Gladys and James Gilbert; her grandchildren, Gage and wife Chastity Crenshaw; Paige and husband Phillip Griffin; Trevor and Tara Gallagher; great-grandchildren, Saydie Crenshaw, Marleigh Crenshaw, and Phillip Griffin.
