Guy Reginald “Reggie” Ward, 91, of Houston, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on December 14, 2025. Born on January 4, 1934, in Wellborn, Texas, to George and Lillie Ward, Reggie grew up in a close-knit family rooted in faith, humility, and love—values that shaped every part of his life.

Reggie graduated from high school in 1952 and proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 31, 1954, to May 29, 1957, during the Korean War. His time in the service strengthened his sense of discipline, responsibility, and service to others. After completing his military duty, he pursued his education at Texas A&M University, earning his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering on January 20, 1962. During these years, he and his young family made their home in Bryan, TX.

On January 25, 1959, Reggie married the love of his life, Jane McCallum, at Alexander Methodist Church in Tabor, Texas. Their marriage of 66 years was a testament to enduring love and commitment. Reggie adored Jane—and he delighted in surprising her with gifts that he chose to prove to her how special she was to him. Their bond was strong, joyful, and inspiring to all who witnessed it.

Reggie dedicated 35 years to the Texas Department of Transportation, serving as a resident engineer in Bryan before later transferring to Buffalo, TX. In 1975, the family moved to Fairfield, where he continued his career with integrity and pride, helping to develop and maintain roads that would serve Texas communities for generations. He retired in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to public service.

A devoted Christian, Reggie lived his faith through kindness, humility, and generosity. His greatest joy, however, came from his family. He was the proud father of David, and he cherished his daughter-in-law, Kim. But nothing delighted him more than his grandchildren—Kennedy, Carter, and Jackson. He never missed the chance to tell them how beautiful or handsome they were. He loved listening to their stories, celebrating their milestones, and cheering them on in all they did - beaming with pride at their accomplishments. His love for them was boundless and unwavering.

Reggie also loved the simple pleasures of everyday life. He enjoyed watching The Lone Ranger and The Andy Griffith Show, finding comfort in their familiar characters and timeless humor. And when it came to news or sports, he was in his element—flipping between channels with enthusiasm. He moved through life at his own steady pace, never in a rush, and his calm, unhurried presence brought a sense of ease to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillie Ward; his brothers and sisters-in-law Monte Wayne and Betty, and Coleman and Alice; his brother Ray Ward; and his sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Fred Isbell.

Left to honor his memory are his devoted wife, Jane Ward; his son David and daughter-in-law Kimberly; his grandchildren Kennedy, Carter, and Jackson; his brother Maxie Ward; sister-in-law Lois Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews. Their lives are richer for having been loved by him.

Reggie’s gentle humor, steadfast faith, and deep love for his family leave a legacy that will be carried forward for generations. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew him.
