Joe Eddie Dyer ("Grumps"), 89, of Navasota, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2026. A small burial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Madeley Chapel in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 20, from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 5D Ranch.
Eddie was born on January 6, 1937, in Navasota, Texas, to J.C. and Mavinee Dyer. He was known for his big personality and even bigger adventures. He never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to tell a good story. In fact, he had more stories than anyone you've ever met. Whether they were all completely true is still up for debate. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and sharing the memories and stories that connected generations. The world feels a little quieter without him, but the stories he leaves behind will keep him close for years to come. His laughter, wisdom, and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dyer; his parents, J.C. and Mavinee Dyer; his brothers, Ray, Jerald, and Darrel Dyer; his son, Johnny Dyer; his daughter, Jennifer Dyer Tomlinson; and his daughter-in-law, Janice Dyer.
He is survived by his son, James Dyer; his daughter, Julie Williamson; his grandchildren, Tosha Pineiro, Ryan Dyer, Justin Tomlinson, and Joee Sikorski; his six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
