Johnny Lysle Roberts, Jr.

Mr. Johnny Lysle Roberts, Jr., 68, of Hempstead, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Hempstead, TX.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, at 11:00 AM at Nobles Funeral Chapel with visitation beginning an hour prior.  Interment will follow in Plantersville Cemetery with Rev. Kris Kelso officiating.
 
Johnny was born on May 28, 1955 in Houston, TX, to Johnny Lyle Roberts and Thelma Elaine Roberts.
 
Johnny graduated from Lutheran High School in 1974 and went on to earn a technical certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. He held positions in various occupations related to the construction industry prior to starting his career with SC Management Services as a General Contractor in 1979. He married his wife Tamara on December 6, 1997 in Magnolia, TX. He was the father of 3 children; Landon Roberts, Amber Byrd and Mandy Thompson. Grandchildren: Chase Parmelly and wife Jennifer, Cody Gould, Cale Gould, Dakota Anderson, Dalton Sparks, Denver Thompson, Johnnie Thompson, Kenady Thompson, Cooper Thompson. Great grandchildren: Fields McCrae Parmelly and Briggs McCoy Parmelly.
 
Johnny was best known for his unmatched work ethic, devotion to his family, honesty and willingness to help others. He was a man of many interests including hunting, fishing, rodeo, horticulture, and all things related to Western and Native American culture. 
 
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lysle Roberts; mother, Thelma Elaine Roberts; and brother, Ronald Allan Roberts.
 
Johnny is survived by his wife Tamara; son, Landon Roberts and wife Kelly; daughter, Amber Byrd and husband Scott; daughter, Mandy Thompson and husband Eric; sister, Teri Green and her husband Dave; and sister, Toni Roberts.
