Lacey Erin Garcia

October 28, 1982 — January 23, 2026

San Antonio

It is hard to forget someone who has given us so much to remember. From the very beginning, Lacey Garcia radiated light. Born on October 28, 1982, Lacey was the second of three girls to Gus and Sandy Gutierrez. She was a devoted daughter, loving sister and loyal friend. Lacey was well known, and to know her was to love her. She grew up in Navasota and graduated from Navasota High School in 2001. She went away to attend college in Stephenville, but quickly found her way back to home where she joined the family business. It was at A Bright Beginning childcare that her true gift was exemplified. She was known as “Buggs” by all the children at school and they all absolutely adored her. When it was time to have children of her own, she and James started their family with the adoption of their first son Auggie. Their family grew very quickly, with the adoption of their next son Mager, and their daughter Nellie. She and James created a life full of adventure for their little ones. They liked to travel, explore, and try new things. Family time brought Lacey so much joy.

Lacey had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and important. She was especially known for her humor and infectious laughter. She was gifted in many areas and was especially creative, with a talent for music and singing. She was always playing music and singing to the top of her lungs. She couldn’t resist a good karaoke party. Lacey lived life to the fullest and her radiating light will be missed greatly.

Lacey is survived by her parents Gus and Sandy Gutierrez, her husband James Garcia, their children, Auggie (11), Mager (6), & Nellie (6), sister Haley and her husband Jason Magee, sister Keley and her husband Joe Barrientos, and nieces: Hattie, Avery, & Sadie, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and countless friends who adored her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday February 4th, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Grimes County Expo Center.
