Linda was born on Thursday, September 11, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to J.E. and Rosa Lee Hammack Goolsby. Linda had a loving, giving heart and spent her life taking care of others, especially her family. She left school during her high school days to begin working and providing for others, especially her family. A decision that showed her strength, sacrifice, and deep sense of responsibility.
She spent many years working at TJ’s Groceries in Navasota, where she did a little bit of everything—salesclerk, stocker, and whatever else needed to be done. Linda was known for always stepping in and helping out. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed relaxing with her favorite soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. She also loved cooking and made sure no one ever left her house hungry.
In her younger years, Linda enjoyed going dancing at Henry’s Hide Out and was proudly known as the “Queen of FM 1774.” She had a spirit that drew people in and left lasting memories wherever she went.
Preceding her in death are her parents, JE and Rosa Goolsby; her siblings, Robert Goolsby, Katherine Goolsby Dees, Michael Goolsby and bonus siblings Aurthur “Jack” Leon Goolsby, Fred Goolsby and Jerry Goolsby.
She loved her family deeply and leaves behind her sister, Paula Montemayor; her nieces and nephews, Ashley McNeil, Theresa Mann, Dianne Demery, Melissa Pitts, Michael Mann, Marty Mann, David Mann and Jessica Mann Reed; along with their families and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers honoring Linda’s life are Isaac McNeil, Michael Mann, Ian Feest, Hoyt Pitts, and Jeremy Webb.
