Maria E. Lerma

Mrs. Maria E. Lerma, 84 of Navasota, passed away Monday, May 26, at Baylor Scott & White Health Center in Temple. Visitation with friends and family will begin at 9:00 AM, Monday, June 2, at Nobles Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tommie Whiting officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Maria was born on August 18, 1940, in Sarita, TX, to Manuel & Elvira (Riojas) Castillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Bobby Ray Lerma and Christopher Lerma; sister, Esmeralda Gonzales; brothers, Leonel Castillo, Abel Castillo, Manuel Castillo, and Riche Castillo; sons-in-law, Frank Gonzales and Clifton Lockett; brothers-in-law, Florencio Guzman and Lupe Gonzales.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roberto Lerma; sons, Roberto Lerma, Jr., Elias Lerma, Rolando Lerma (Susie), Orlando Lerma, and Rene Lerma; daughters, Edna Gonzales, Florina Lockett, and Ida Lerma; brother, Mario Castillo (Antonia); sister, Chita Guzman; sister-in-law, Manuela Castillo; 22 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Roberto Lerma, Jr., Elias Lerma, Rolando Lerma, Sr., Jose Gonzales, Michael Cavazos, and Rolando Lerma, Jr.
