Mario was born on Monday, May 31, 1954, to his parents Arnulfo and Rosa Nava Castillo, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. After moving to Navasota, he met the love of his life, Irene, and together they built a beautiful life. As a young man, he became a watch smith during his younger years. Mario dedicated 44 years of service to Trinity Industries, where he led his team with skill and pride. He was especially known for his expertise with the Birdsboro machine- a craft he mastered and took great satisfaction in. More than just a job, his time at Trinity gave him a second family, whose friendships he truly valued.

Mario was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family, cherishing every moment he spent with them. He and his brother shared many good times together, often catching up over ice cream at Dairy Queen. He also spent many nights with his siblings playing their favorite game lotteria. Mario also liked visiting Stripes, where he’d enjoy his favorite tacos and a cup of coffee with friends. Simple pleasures brought him joy like cruising around town, soaking in the little moments that made life sweet.

His wife Irene Castillo, and his parents, Arnulfo and Rosa Castillo, his brother-in-law Juan Salazar, all preceded Mario in death.

Mario is survived by his sons, Mario and wife Lupita Castillo, Daniel and wife Brenda Castillo, Mario Adam and wife Chelsie Castillo; his daughters Veronica Castillo, Rachel and husband Blake Lauter; his brothers Javier and wife Mage Castillo, Manuel and wife Dahlia Castillo; his sisters Rosalinda Salazar, Alicia and husband Facundo Rios, Elva and husband Danny York. And Ofelia Castillo; his grandchildren whom he adored, Yahir, Adrian, Fabian, Yaretzi, Danielle, Orlando, Tatiana, Cameron, Mayra, Jocelyn, Daniel Jr., Olivia, Camila, Kona and Roxy.
