Nannie Lee Lindsey passed away on May 4, 2026, at 7:41 pm with her girls around her, listening to stories and laughing with her. Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with funeral services following at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held in Old Oakland Cemetery in Roans Prairie with Mr. Ricky Alderete officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Nannie was born in Garson East Texas and lived a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to those she loved.

On September 11, 1955, she married the love of her life, Ronald Richard Lindsey, Sr., in Choplin. Together, they built a strong and loving family, creating a legacy that continues through generations.

In Nannie’s earlier years, Nannie started a catering company at only 24 years old when woman did not work in a man’s world, where she enjoyed bringing people together through food and fellowship. Over the years, she worked in a variety of roles, including at the post office, as a social worker, and as a prison guard. She was known for her strong work ethic, independence, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

She was full of life and loved to have fun. She enjoyed dressing well, wearing beautiful clothes and jewelry, and spending time doing the things that made her happy, including playing the slot machines. Her vibrant personality and joyful spirit made her someone people were naturally drawn to.

Nannie is survived by sisters, Judy Patricia Harper and Barbara Ann Patton-McKinley, her daughter, Cynthia Lindsey Morgan (Cindy), and son-in-law Joe S. Morgan; her grandchildren, Elesha Alexander, Jamie Oliver, Lindsey Hubenak, Raymond Frueboes, Zachary Frueboes, Lauren Brown, McKenna Yarbrough, and Aubrey Lindsey.

She was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Skylar Blair, Shyla Oliver, Mattson Oliver, Elesibthe Alexander, Gabrielle Alexander, Alyssa Alexander, Michael Alexander, Reagan Hubenak, Levi Hubenak, and Kaegan Hubenak; as well as great-great-grandchildren Gemma Frueboes, Pepper Blair, and Jasher Alexander.

Nannie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Richard Lindsey, Sr.; her daughter Kathy Frueboes; her son Ricky Lindsey; her grandson John Lindsey; her mother, Ruby Alline Wilson-Bryan; her father Jessie Porter Bryan; her brothers Joe Baxter Bryan, Jessie Lester Bryan, Floyd Vernon Bryan; and her sister Ruby Exa Reichert.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her sense of fun, and the deep love she had for her family. Her life was a testament to resilience, joy, and devotion, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
