Roger "Rip" Vezurk

September 15, 1958 — July 31, 2025

Anderson

Roger “Rip” Vezurk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home in Anderson, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary immediately following at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Rite of Committal will immediately follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Edward Kucera, Jr. as the celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Roger was born on September 15, 1958, in Navasota, Texas, to Steve and Anna Mae Vezurk. He grew up in Anderson, helping on the family dairy, working alongside his father and learning the values of dedication and hard work—qualities he carried with him throughout his life.

On August 21, 1976, Roger married the love of his life, Deanie Sechelski, and together they built a life full of love, faith, and laughter. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership, and they were blessed with three children, Blake, Jaime and Clint, who would become the center of Roger’s world.

For over 30 years, Roger co-owned a lawn service business with his brother Gary. In 2004, he partnered with his son Blake to open The Feed Barn, which they proudly ran together until 2024. For Roger, it was more than a business—it was a way to stay connected to the people he loved.

A lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Roger’s faith guided his life and shaped his character. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger and never let a friend feel forgotten. He had a natural gift for making people feel welcome, often showing up just to say hello or check in.

Those who knew Roger—affectionately known as “Rip”—will remember him for his larger-than-life personality, his love for a good laugh, and his deep devotion to those around him. He often joked that he wished he had ten kids because his children were also his best friends. He found joy in the simple things: evening buggy rides around the land and stopping in to visit with his kids, son-in-law, and grandkids. He liked to ride the roads of Grimes County to check in and catch up with friends. His home was always open, and his sense of humor made every visit memorable. He loved picking on those he cared about—and if he gave you a hard time, you knew you were loved. Whether he was teasing someone playfully or offering a hand without hesitation, he made people feel seen and valued. His presence lit up every room, and any gathering with Roger in it was guaranteed to be filled with joy and laughter.

He cherished time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing at the tank with family. And no gathering was complete without his legendary fried chicken, requested and loved by all.

Roger had a deep, unwavering love for his wife, Deanie. Their bond was one of enduring friendship, loyalty, and laughter. Theirs was a love that inspired everyone around them.

Roger was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will live on in his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Anna Mae. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 49 years, Deanie Vezurk; son and daughter-in-law, Blake & Melissa Vezurk; daughter and son-in-law, Jaime & Frankie Diehl; son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Kristin Vezurk; brother Gary Vezurk; Sisters Joanie and husband Dennis Wehmeyer, Harriet and husband Darrel Borski, Rose and husband Mark Boehnke; and grandkids, Morgan Whitla, Carter Vezurk, Connor Vezurk, Lauren Vezurk, Fisher Diehl, Callie Vezurk, Trenton Vezurk, Tinley Vezurk and many nieces, nephews, their family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Benigno Diaz, Brad Williams, Paul Burzynski, Mike Kurtin, Abraham Barriga, Carlos Mijangos, Carter Vezurk, Connor Vezurk, Fisher Diehl, and honorary pallbearer Trenton Vezurk.
