Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Fairview Cemetery in White Hall with Rev. Faber McMullen officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Sherri Dawn Livengood was born in Fairfax, Missouri to William C and Dortheda Livengood on September 3, 1968. Sherri was the youngest of four children. Sherri grew up on a farm in Craig, Missouri and attended Craig School. In 1981, her family relocated to Bryan, Texas. On November 17, 1990, she married William S. Laird Jr. Together they had a blended family with three sons, Cody, Jamie, and Todd. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2025, being exactly 35 years after her wedding date. She went from being William Laird’s wife to being part of the Bride of Christ in heaven.
Sherri is preceded in death by her father William C Livengood, her brother William E Livengood, and her son Cody Laird. She is survived by her mother Dortheda Livengood, her husband William S Laird Jr, her brother Phil Livengood, and her sister LeaAnn Boyd. In addition, she is survived by son Jamie and spouse Jeremy Strabala, son Todd and spouse Kristie Lenz, and grandchildren Wyatt, Wiley, Waden, Westin, Bryson, Baylee, and Braylyn (aka NO-NO). In addition, she is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by Julius Williams whom she loved as a son, and his spouse Laura and their two children Rankyn and Mattie.
Sherri was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church of Whitehall (The Grove) for many years. She was baptized in Lake Yarboro in the fall of 2016 in the early years of the pastorate of Faber McMullen. Although her spirit now resides in heaven, her earthly remains will be laid to rest in the historic Fairview Cemetery which is historically connected with her church. She will be greatly missed by her fellow congregants at “The Grove.” She was brave and courageous in death, knowing that her soul was secure in Jesus, and that she would receive a crown of righteousness upon her arrival in heaven as awaits all who love Him.
The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to the staff of Baylor Scott and White’s oncology department, Dr. Covington, and the amazing nursing staff that gave her compassionate care as Sherri completed her journey to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who awaited her in heaven.
