Mrs. Shirley Abke, 75, of Marlin, TX, passed away on Monday, May 15, at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Go Texan Building in Navasota, TX, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Shirley was born on April 25, 1948, in Houston, TX, to William Johnson and Hattie Stow Johnson.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie; her husband, Fred Abke; siblings, Dorothy Hanna, William Johnson, and Lena Westfall.
She is survived by her son, Jason Abke; her daughter, Jana and her husband, Douglas Nobles; brother, Olin Johnson; grandchildren, Wacey and Cory Elle Abke, Tamara and Tyler Calhoun, Rachel Abke, Hattie Abke, and Trevor Nobles; a great grandchild, Taiden Calhoun; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
